I am a UX Designer & Strategist with over 10 years of previous experience in education, research, and political advocacy. I am passionate about building an equitable and accessible future for all through digital design and advocating for user needs.
As a designer, I work mainly in the progressive politics sector for clients looking to better our world for the people living in it, and I use my design skills to further their goals online and in the real world. I believe user-centric design is an avenue to further progress and make our world more livable and accessible for all.
Things I Care About
I believe one of best way to get know a person besides spending time with them is by listening to the music they enjoy; it’s just another facet of the experience for me. If you want to know me sonically a bit more, check out this Spotify playlist that I listen to while I am design great, functional, beautiful things (maybe including your next project).
Great Music
It’s a beautiful thing when care has been put into every aspect of a brand/product from the first instance a user hears about it through actually interacting with it. Those little details matter and greatly impact the whole product. I advocate for consideration to these smaller, yet still important parts of design through out the design process.
Holistic Experiences
In my work, I strive to consider all backgrounds and perspectives as I gain insights from all users; not just the easiest and most plentiful sources to come by. As a trans, queer woman, it is important to me that my work protects and celebrates my community and our experiences in digital spaces. But this is true for all identities and backgrounds. I work on making sure my work reflects the world I believe in and want to continue to develop.
Equality
Keeping designs user-centric, means centered on all users. I use WCAG 2.2 standards in my work and make sure I am up to date on all the latest best practices. I also, make sure my designs represent the users in images and stories, and also using localization principles.
